Chhaya Kadam has responded to the backfire on social media to her other film All We Envision As Light not being chosen as India’s official section for Oscar 2025.

Actor Chhaya Kadam, whose Kiran Rao film Laapataa Women has been chosen as India’s official passage to the Oscars following year, has responded to her other motion picture, All We Envision As Light, not being chosen. In an meet with India Nowadays, the on-screen character, who played Manju Mai in Laapataa Women, said she was cheerful approximately the film’s Oscar section, but as well felt ‘bad’ as Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light lost the Oscar race.

Chhaya tended to the backfire on social media to her other film All We Envision As Light not being chosen as India’s official passage for Oscar 2025. “I am cheerful for Laapataa Women, but at the same time I am feeling a small terrible for Payal’s film as well. Presently this choice has been taken by the biggies at Film League so I have no say in it. I would have cherished to see both the movies at Oscars”, she said.

Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Women is India’s official entry
The Film Alliance of India reported on Monday in Chennai that Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Women has been picked as India’s official section for the Oscars in 2025. The news has X (once in the past known as Twitter) swirling ever since.

The Hindi film, a light-hearted parody on patriarchy, was chosen from a list of 29 movies, counting Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Creature, Malayalam National Award-winner Aattam and Cannes-winner All We Envision As Light. Numerous needed to see All We Envision As Light as India’s official Oscar entry.
