Salman Khan imports another bulletproof SUV from Dubai worth Rs 2 crore amid ongoing threats from Lawrence Bishnoi gang: Report
Salman Khan, one of Bollywood’s most influential and beloved actors, has made headlines once again, not for his movies, but for an action taken to protect his life. As per recent reports, Khan has imported a new bulletproof SUV from Dubai, estimated to be worth around ₹2 crore, in light of ongoing death threats from the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This decision reflects the heightened concern for the actor’s security, given the severity of the threats against him. In this article, we delve into the details of this purchase, the background of the threats, and how such measures are critical for Khan’s safety. Salman Khan’s new SUV, according to reports, is believed to be a bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser, a vehicle renowned for its durability and security features. While Khan already owns several luxury vehicles, including a bulletproof Nissan Patrol, this particular import from Dubai is being viewed as an additional layer of protection. The price tag of ₹2 crore highlights the extreme lengths Khan is going to in order to safeguard himself amid escalating threats. The SUV is reportedly custom-fitted with bulletproof glass, reinforced doors, and armor plating designed to withstand high-caliber gunfire and explosive devices. Given the seriousness of the death threats Khan has been receiving, this vehicle serves as an impenetrable fortress on wheels, designed to ensure that the actor can travel safely to various locations, whether for personal or professional reasons. The question many may ask is why Salman Khan, who already owns a fleet of high-security vehicles, would feel the need for an additional one. The answer lies in the growing intensity of the threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This gang, a notorious criminal organization with deep roots in northern India, has made public declarations against the actor’s life on several occasions. The origin of these threats dates back to a 1998 incident where Salman Khan was involved in a blackbuck poaching case. Khan was accused of hunting the blackbuck, an endangered species, while shooting for the movie “Hum Saath-Saath Hain.” Lawrence Bishnoi, a member of the Bishnoi community that reveres the blackbuck as a sacred animal, has taken personal offense at Khan’s alleged involvement. Bishnoi, who is currently in jail for various criminal activities, has publicly stated that his community will not forgive Salman Khan for the poaching case. In 2022, Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang issued several direct threats to Salman Khan and his family, warning that the actor would be killed in the same way Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was assassinated earlier that year. As a result, Salman Khan’s security has been tightened significantly. The Mumbai police have increased the actor’s personal security detail, and he now moves around with armed bodyguards at all times. What makes these threats particularly alarming is not only their consistency but also the historical precedents set by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In June 2022, Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was brutally shot dead, an attack for which Bishnoi’s gang claimed responsibility. Given this backdrop, Salman Khan’s life is perceived to be in real danger, making it critical for him to take every precaution available. In one of the gang’s threatening letters sent to Salman Khan and his father, Salim Khan, there were explicit warnings that they should “watch their backs” and that they would soon meet the same fate as Moose Wala. This left no room for ambiguity about the seriousness of the threats. The Bishnoi gang has been known for its violent tendencies and its ability to execute high-profile crimes even from behind prison bars. This raises the stakes for Salman Khan and reinforces the need for constant vigilance.
